2021 Summer North American Bridge Championship
Providence, Rhode Island
Welcome to Providence, Rhode Island – host of the 2021 Summer North American Bridge Championship. The city of Providence and the NABC Host Committee are excited to have an NABC in Rhode Island. You will find that Providence is a terrific city with all the amenities of a major city but still has the charm and friendly atmosphere of a small town.
We hope that many people will find the Providence NABC an affordable event to attend. The hotel rates are very economical with a starting bridge rate of just $179 per night. The Providence airport is just 9 miles south of the downtown area and served by all major airlines. The Providence train station is a short 10 minute walk to the Convention Center and served by Amtrak and the MBTA commuter rail. See the transportation page for more information.
The Rhode Island Convention Center will be host to the bridge games and is located in the heart of the city. The Convention Center is an exposition center with 130,000 square feet of exhibition space and is connected via a covered walkway to one of the host hotels, the Omni Hotel. All of the other host hotels, Providence Graduate (formerly the Biltmore), Hilton, and Marriot are within easy walking distance (5 minutes or less) to the Convention Center.
Providence’s Signature Event is Waterfire
We are pleased to announce a special Waterfire will be held at dusk on Saturday, July 17. Waterfire is a spectacular must see event. First time visitors will be amazed. Providence is also well known for their restaurants and entertainment. The Federal Hill section of Providence is the home of many outstanding restaurants and specializes in authentic Italian cuisine.
The New York Times said “Providence has exceptional food, compelling art and architecture, and an inordinate number of smart people. Yet the city remains unpretentious and affordable”. Providence was voted the #1 food city in the United States by the readers of Leisure + Travel magazine.
The Providence Performing Arts Center is the second largest theater of its kind in New England and is host to major Broadway shows. The Tony Award winning Trinity Repertory Theater is one of the most respected regional theaters in America.
We look forward to seeing you in Providence for the
2021 Summer North American Bridge Championship!
